Mostly Garden! And A Little Bit of Politics
Where can I find recipes on what I can use preserved green tomato mincemeat for?
Allrecipes has recipes for pies.
him and freeland should of been put in jail years ago! Canada needs a law that protects Canadians against corrupted government
Yay Canada! Congratulations on the turnover!
Thank You! more work to do!
Thanks for the update of what is going on in Canada. I always enjoy the garden updates too. I always seem to learn some little helpful tip.
Thank You!
How long can you store dried bell peppers?
the length of time has more to do with storage methods, but I would believe that 18 months is not out of the question!
They say that rhubarb and comfrey roots go to hell 7 times in back. Unfortunately the guy that tilled my garden also did the comfrey. Now it's everywhere❤
well rhubarbs roots go down about 18 inches, so they can be eliminated...comfrey on the other hand...yikes...up to 10 ft!!! and it also seeds like crazy!
Good news for Canada. 👍🏻 Here, USA, NJ, or NY, I get them mixed up. 🙃 voted out a horrible D for a moderate one. Tide is turning. 🙏 Your lavender is gorgeous. 😍
small steps in the right direction!!!!!
We had 4 grandchildren over last evening, and they snacked in my garden on fresh veggies: sugar peas, young green beans, tomatoes, cucumbers, and picked 2 gallon bags of salad and endive greens. We need to harvest some beets - husband wants them diced and canned. Lavender has anti-microbial benefits so you can make salves or tinctures for scrapes and scratches. That is GREAT news on the elections! Like you, I hope that bodes well for the people.
smart youngsters...lol...I used to take a salt shaker and a knife and feast on my mothers tomato patch...they were delicious!
@@HerHomesteadSkills ☺️
I’m sure you have a video that answered this but is your lavendar perennial or planted from seed? How is it already able to be harvested in your zone? Stuff is slow growing here in Eastern Central Nebraska (zone 5)
My lavender is perennial and has been growing for at least three years now, harvesting it and/or cutting it back every spring after it flowers helps it produce new branches and get better established, this may be a factor in producing a harvest this time of year...p.s. I too am in zone 5.
Sounds like good news for Canada- let’s hope it’s really an awakening, yes?! Hope our USA election is on the up n up this time. People are fed up! Is your garden not in your backyard? Is it a Community Garden? That sounds interesting. More plants, could be more pollinators. Yay.
I have an allotment garden, since I sold my house!
Oh how I wish I could grow lavender. Yours is just beautiful. I’m concerned over an impending war prior to the election in the states.
I understand your concern..try not to worry!
I don't think a war will happen until after the election unless the purpose is to enact martial law and delay the election.
How big is your garden plot?
Good question!
20ft by 20ft...It used to be double that, but now my son will be gardening the other half.
@HerHomesteadSkills thanks for answering. You have it well planned out!
Thanks Toni
Beautiful lavender
Thank you!
Hi Toni, Congrats! Glad to hear news that we would never get down in FL. It's important to know the tide may be changing.
Yes the pendulum has swung to far in one direction and is on it's way back.
Oh good!! Lavender soap🤗 Congratulations to you and all Canadians on a conservative win! The tides may be turning as people worldwide appear to be waking up! We need to get rid of the "elites" that are trying to gain control of us! We will persevere and win!!🇺🇸😎🇨🇦
governing is one thing...control is another!
As much as I want to see the back side of Trudeau going out the door, if he does resign, I’m afraid the newly awakened will just go back to their sports & tv programs, thinking the job is done! We have to stay vigilant!
you sound like Mark, he always says that people focus on sports and don't pay attention to what is important.
@@HerHomesteadSkills Bread & Circus’! People have become conditioned to control by their tv sets. We don’t have them any more, but maybe the internet is just as bad.
even if he leaves, him and freeland are still high members of the WEF, it's far from being over with them.
Don't want the brain dead idiot to resign. To many brain dead voters who were thinking of switching will figure he's gone so they will continue to vote for the fools that supported him all these years.
most of us want him to call an election sooner rather than later!
Wish the USA counted the ballots same day, by hand. What a blessing it would be toward honest elections.
Seems to me, many people can no longer count!
well the whole population of Canada is about the same as the population of California, but with enough manpower it could be done!
I have scrutineered at a number of elections (poll watcher). With paper ballots, no drop boxes and very little mail in ballots, cheating is very hard. Cheating still happens, but probably not enough to change the outcome.
👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
I have a story about beets. I really dont like them, but heard they were good for you. So I started juicing, I made some the other day with apples. I went to the bathroom and did my number 2 ,looked down and the whole toilet was red. I panicked, thought I was bleeding from within, told my husband, think I need to go to hospital, he said did you drink beet juice you made yesterday? Roflmbo. 😂😂😂😂
lol!!! I think the same thing happens (orange) if you eat too many carrots at once.
Thumbs up first time. I'm watching from a far.
Awesome! Thank you!
New Petition E-5024. Previous petition E-4701 with 347,847 signatures not enough for you ?? Now we will give you MILLIONS. To date 12,612 signatures. Let's keep it going, Canadians.
Thank you!
Thanks for posting E-5024. I hadn't heard of that one.
@@markl6038 Thank you on behalf of our beloved Canada. Please pass it on.
I love my garden time too.
You can also use the lavender flower buds in some baked goods.
yup!
That's great news!
Yeah it's tony time❤🎉
Thank you!
Oh comfrey, I spent 3 years of digging to amazing depts to rid my flower bed of it, If I ever plant it again it will be in a wild area of non-mowed grasses.
yeah...I may be sorry but I will try to keep it under control for now!
Liberalism is a mental disorder, don't vote for people who are mentally ill to make changes in your life.
Good news
I love the smell.of lavender, so beautiful. Trudeau gotta go. One of the big problem seeds is the Maniyoba Maple, you have to catch them early too, but even a 3 inch tree is very hard to pull. They grow very fast. I find I have to be in the mood to bake, I imagine that is true for just about everyone. Take care and stay safe ❤
yup, used to have a maple tree in a neighboring house...and the seeds grew in my garden every year..
Yaaay! Thank God people are waking up! Here in WNCAROLINA we haven’t had any rain for nearly four weeks. I have to water my gardens every two days. Hate dragging that hose. But did pick my first beets and one cuke. Beans are getting to a point where I can start picking them. The rest? Need rain and that nitrogen.
wow, we have had rain almost every day...and a heat wave that has ended for the time being...I expect that the rain will diminish now too!
It amazes me how since the 1980's all the elections are marginally close... not mathematically possible. 🤔
good news
Counting ballots by hand is better than using Dominion machines like in the US. Just have watchers at counting stations. What's going on is a global problem. Canada counts as does the rest of the world if we are going to stop this evil cloud over the planet.
Yes machines can be manipulated...hand counting with watchers is the most honest way!
Good news! Hopefully things turn around in the USA also. We can only hope.
agreed!
Toni, your lavender looks amazing. One Canadian to another, I was watching the bi-election as well. I am in Atlantic Canada 🇨🇦 and I agree, the tides have got to turn. Take care and fingers crossed that this turn over continues.
yup, we can't go on like this indefinitely!
That news is surely hopeful Toni! 👏 I use lavender in the kitchen; is so nice in beef stews (like boeuf bourguignon ) but also in tea. Or put some in vodka for a while and add as an essence to (cup)cakes. I love lavender 💜
adding it to the vodka sounds interesting!
I like hearing about what you grow in your garden and the pros and cons of how to do it best. 😀
Thank you!
That is good news about Toronto-St. Paul's. How interesting! The lavender looks amazing; I wish that we could share in the scent. ❤
me too!
Wow! Thats a hopeful sign. Glad for the glimmer of hope for Canada.
YES!
I bought some lavender this year and they died. Don’t know what I did wrong. May try again
I thought mine was dead..but I left it in the sun kept watering it..and it started to grow back..
YUP!
@@zan4110 I put mine in the sun, there is still a little green so keeping my fingers crossed
@@debbiewalters706 it will grow..!! 🪴
So happy for Canada! I pray for a change in America too. Show us how to make Lavender soap, I have been wanting to learn.
Making soap is easy enough, you just need a good formula!
Sounds like good news to me
yes it is!
Hi Toni - it’s good to hear your garden is coming along nicely. Those lavender plants are lovely - I love the smell of it too. Hopefully any other elections continue on the same path - it’s time for a change for sure. Just watering my big greenhouse and making cheese today it’s supposed to rain which will be good for the outside gardens. Have a good rest and enjoy your day
Thanks so much 😊
Praise the Lord! That's great news!
Thanks for sharing about the Toronto election. Very interesting, and I am in the USA. Maybe people are waking up.
Hope so!
I love the smell of lavender!!
Praise the Lord! We helped pray for you in Canada. God has started answering our prayers! We need to persist in prayers until all of our Land is fully restored!
Thank you!
It will happen...It just will take time and effort!
Great news..........lets hope this trend continues.
Me too!
